Job summary

ECS Mid-Atlantic, LLC is seeking a Structural Assistant Staff Associate to join our Mount Laurel, NJ team. You will support structural engineering and forensic projects, gaining hands-on field experience and foundational skills in investigations, analysis, and report preparation.

You will work with experienced engineers, learn testing methods and code considerations, and contribute to repair design and field activities within a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor and/or Master of Science in Civil Engineering, Architecture (NCARB), Civil (Structural) Engineering, or Architectural Engineering.
• 0-2 years of related experience
• Certifications may be required; Engineer-in-Training (EIT) would go a long way.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural consulting, assessment, testing, and construction administration services.
• Collaborate with staff on various projects and attend project meetings as requested.
• Interface with contractors and site personnel daily and communicate changing site conditions to supervisors.
• Learn to prioritize tasks to meet project requirements under supervision.
• Develop technical writing skills and assist with report preparation including documenting field observations and results.
• Learn sample collection procedures for concrete, masonry, steel, wood, and other materials.
• Gain introductory knowledge of structural testing methods (e.g., anchor pull testing, GPR, sounding).
• Understand applicable federal, state, and local codes related to structural engineering.
