The role blends hands-on welding with layout and quality control, requiring teamwork, safe work habits, and the ability to adapt to shifting priorities while meeting production schedules and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Read shop drawings to understand production process and weld symbols.
• Layout fabrication assemblies and fit parts to them.
• Complete welds per welding procedures and maintain weld quality.

Responsibilities

• Read shop drawings to understand production process and weld symbols.
• Load and unload work area using forklifts.
• Layout fabrication assemblies and fit parts to them.
• Complete welds indicated using MIG welding.
• Cut parts with oxy-fuel or plasma torch and prepare welds.
• Adhere to quality standards and inspect own work.
• Document work using computer systems.
• Set up and maintain equipment and troubleshoot issues.
• Manage consumables to ensure tools available and in good condition.
• Maintain safety regulations and procedures.
• Adjust priorities to meet production schedules.
