Job summary

MMI Industrial & Steel is seeking a Structural Steel Fabricator/Welder to join our fabrication facility. This full-time role requires reading shop drawings, fitting and welding structural members, and delivering finished parts for QC and shipment.

The candidate should have extensive experience with structural welding, be able to lay out from prints, and work with heavy members using cranes and rigging. Safety and quality are emphasized in daily duties.

Qualifications

• Experience in structural steel fabrication and welding.
• Ability to read shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Experience fabricating beams, columns, stairs and assemblies.
• Ability to layout and fit-up accurately from drawings.
• Knowledge of weld types: CJP, PJP, groove and fillet.
• Proficient with layout tools (tape measure, square, level).
• Experience with heavy structural members and overhead cranes.
• Weld sequencing and distortion control understanding.
• Identify drawing/material issues before fabrication.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings and weld symbols.
• Lay out, fit, assemble, and weld structural steel to print.
• Fabricate beams, columns, stairs, frames and WT sections.
• Prepare and weld connections including base plates and gussets.
• Perform self-inspection before QC and ensure quality.
