Job summary

TAI seeks a Structural Engineering Team Manager to lead multiple mid- to large-scale design projects, guiding technical direction and mentoring a team of engineers and designers to deliver innovative structural solutions from concept to completion.

This senior role requires PE licensure and SE preference, with 8+ years of structural design experience across industrial and critical facilities, plus 5+ years in leadership and coordination of drawings and calculations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil or Architectural Engineering or applicable program.
• Professional Engineering (PE) licensure is required.
• Structural Engineer (SE) Licensure is preferred or ability to obtain.
• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering design experience on relevant projects.
• Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineers and designers for creation of drawings and performing engineering calculations.
• Proficient knowledge of ASCE 7, IBC, ACI 318, AISC 303 and locally adopted codes/standards.
• Understanding of OSHA requirements related to facility design and construction.

Here’s a Glimpse Into Your Day To Day

• Leading multiple mid and large-size design projects.


• Proposal development and fee estimates.


• Directing other engineers and designers for preparation of drawings and reports.


• Managing scope, schedule, and budget for assigned projects.


• Functioning as Sr. Structural Engineer & Subject Matter Expert (SME) for various projects and teams.


• Preparing engineering analysis and reports, including conditions assessment.


• Preparing advanced engineering calculations and reviewing calculations prepared by others.


• Overseeing development of preliminary and detailed engineering designs.


• Supervise and assign projects and related tasks amongst the team.


• Coordinate with Division Managers to maintain utilization of team members.


• Coordinate with Division Managers to monitor budgets and deadlines.


• Ensure project coordination with other divisions and staff.


• Support Division Managers for quality control policies and procedures.


• Ensure team compliance with corporate standards.


• Contribute to Division goals related to revenue generation, hiring goals, employee training and development, business development with new and existing clients.


• Support hiring: identifying open roles, interviewing, and provide input related to hiring decisions.


• In coordination with the Division Manager, assist with supervising team members and providing feedback related to employee performance management.


• Provide mentorship to enhance growth and advancement of personnel.


• Support Marketing & Business Development for developing new clients and opportunities.


• Visit field to scope out projects.


• Review and provide preliminary approval of employee timesheets.

You’ll Be a Perfect Fit If You Have

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university in Civil or Architectural Engineering or applicable program.


• Structural Engineer (SE) Licensure is preferred or ability to obtain.


• Professional Engineering (PE) Licensure is required.


• Minimum 8 years of structural engineering design experience on relevant projects. Applicable design experience includes creating construction documents for concrete and steel design in industrial, manufacturing, commercial, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, or mission-critical facilities.


• Minimum 5 years of experience leading engineers and designers for creation of drawings and performing engineering calculations.


• Proficient knowledge of applicable design codes including current editions ASCE 7 (and others), IBC, ACI 318, AISC 303 (and others) as well as locally adopted codes and standards


• Understanding of OSHA requirements as relating to facility design and construction


• Experience and understanding of environmental and regional design considerations such as wind speed, rainfall, ice loading, seismic design, etc.


• Understanding of all engineering disciplines with previous history of intradisciplinary coordination is a plus.


• Demonstrated leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.

Compensation And Benefits

• Pay: $125,000-165,000 annually (depending upon experience).


• Eligible for overtime pay


• Annual Profit Sharing Bonus (variable)
