Job summary

TAI is seeking a Construction Manager to lead field execution of capital projects in a dynamic manufacturing environment in the United States. You will oversee planning through startup, coordinating multiple trades and contractors to deliver on schedule and safety.

You will manage mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and utility installations, monitor progress, and drive operational readiness for turnover. Strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration are essential.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of construction management experience on industrial capital projects.
• Experience managing EPC firms, contractors, subcontractors, and multiple construction disciplines.
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specs, and technical docs.

Responsibilities

• Lead field execution of capital projects from planning through commissioning, startup, and closeout.
• Manage EPC and general contractors, subcontractors, and trades for safe, efficient delivery.
• Coordinate mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, and utility installations.
• Monitor progress, address schedule, cost, quality, and resources; review drawings and work packages.
• Facilitate contractor coordination meetings and provide status updates to stakeholders.
• Manage punch lists, turnover, and project documentation; support commissioning and startup readiness.
• Ensure compliance with LOTO, hot work, confined space, excavations, line breaks, energized work, cranes and rigging.
• Coordinate safety audits with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS; promote a strong safety culture.

About the Role:

Join a high-impact capital expansion initiative as a Construction Manager supporting major facility and infrastructure projects within a dynamic manufacturing environment. In this role, you'll serve as the onsite leader overseeing construction execution from planning through startup, coordinating multiple trades and contractors while driving project progress, safety, quality, and operational readiness. Here’s a glimpse into your day to day:

• Lead field execution of capital projects from construction planning through commissioning, startup, and project closeout.
• Manage EPC contractors, general contractors, subcontractors, and specialty trades to ensure safe and efficient project delivery.
• Coordinate mechanical, piping, electrical, instrumentation, controls, and utility installations.
• Monitor project progress and proactively address schedule, cost, quality, and resource challenges.
• Review construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and work packages.
• Facilitate daily contractor coordination meetings and provide project status updates to stakeholders.
• Manage punch list activities, mechanical completion, turnover, and final project documentation.
• Coordinate pressure testing, system flushing and cleaning, equipment installation verification, and turnover readiness activities.
• Support commissioning and startup activities including equipment energization, instrument loop checks, mechanical alignments, functional testing, and operational readiness reviews.
• Safety & Permitting Leadership
• Manage and validate all construction permits and safe work authorizations prior to execution.

Ensure compliance with:

• Line Break Permits
• Energized Electrical Work
• Crane and Rigging Activities

• Conduct field audits and safety inspections to verify work is being performed in accordance with approved permits, job hazard analyses (JHAs), and site procedures.
• Coordinate closely with Operations, Maintenance, Engineering, and EHS teams to safely release systems and manage work activities.
• Promote and maintain a strong safety culture throughout all phases of project execution.

You’ll be a perfect fit if you have:

• 7+ years of construction management experience supporting industrial capital projects.
• Experience managing EPC firms, contractors, subcontractors, and multiple construction disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in chemical, pharmaceutical, semiconductor, life sciences, advanced manufacturing, or related industrial environments.
• Experience managing projects in operating manufacturing facilities.
• Experience with Procore or similar construction management software.
• Working knowledge of Process Safety Management (PSM) environments.
• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related technical discipline preferred.
• PMP, CCM, or other project management certification is a plus.
