About The Role

Step into a leadership-oriented role where you will drive the full lifecycle of complex electrical design projects across high-stakes environments, including healthcare, datacenters, and government facilities. As a primary technical authority, you will bridge the gap between conceptual vision and operational reality, managing multidisciplinary coordination and directing design teams to deliver sophisticated power, lighting, and infrastructure solutions. This position offers the autonomy to own your designs, interpret critical codes, and serve as a key technical partner for clients on mission-critical projects from initial scope through final commissioning.

Here’s a Glimpse Into Your Day To Day

  • Individuals in this position are responsible for planning, organizing, and performing detailed electrical design with capability to manage engineering activities.
  • This position requires minimal administrative direction from the division manager and is responsible for engineering design of multiple complex projects.
  • Research applicable industry standards, prepare and critique engineering studies, analysis of systems, preliminary and detailed engineering designs.
  • Develop and review engineering specifications and project cost estimates.
  • Direct and review work of project design team, check progress of work and alert managers to change of scope and additional services.
  • Coordinate all aspects of project document completion.
  • Direct contributing engineers and CAD designers for the preparation of construction drawings.
  • Possess ability to interpret applicable codes.
  • Independently work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to codes is required.
  • Coordinate project design with other engineering disciplines.

You’ll Be a Perfect Fit If You Have

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • Master’s Degree is a plus.
  • Professional Engineer licensure is a plus.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of engineering and design experience.
  • Expertise in specifying and designing systems in at least one of the core industries served by TAI: commercial, hospitals, laboratories, datacenters, and government facilities.
  • Extensive experience designing, reviewing and approving Electrical Construction Drawing sets including but not limited to single lines, grounding plans, lightning protection, lighting plans, power plans, fire alarm, communication and security infrastructure plans.
  • Extensive experience with generator sizing software.
  • Interact with customers to gather critical information.
  • Working Knowledge of NEC (NFPA 70).
  • In depth knowledge of LEED, ASHRAE, IECC, and IGCC energy codes.
  • Knowledge of IES recommendations.
  • Experience supporting mission critical and/or secure facilities design projects is preferred.
  • Preferably knowledge of SKM, Easypower, or ETAP.
  • Valid U.S. Citizenship.

Candidates Should Have Experience With The Following Software

  • Microsoft Office applications – Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project
  • AutoCAD and/or Revit (ability to open drawings, navigate, edit text, and print)
  • Masterspec
