EAD Corporations is seeking a Manager of Structural Engineering in Omaha to lead a capable team delivering technically sound work across scope, schedule, and budget. The role blends engineering leadership with hands-on project contribution and oversight of discipline standards, reviews, and quality control.

The position emphasizes ownership of assignment decisions, mentoring, and capacity planning, with 50‑75% billable contribution.

Qualifications

• Active Professional Engineer license required; able to personally produce, review, seal structural work.
• Strong industrial structural engineering experience and multi‑project leadership.
• Demonstrated resource planning, assignment, proposal, technical review, coaching, and client‑facing capability.
• Strong written and verbal communication, sound judgment, organization, and dependable follow‑through.
• Ability to work effectively across offices, disciplines, project teams, and client organizations.

Responsibilities

• Lead employees and working leads through assignments, priorities, coaching, performance feedback, hiring, onboarding, development, licensure, and succession.
• Own the 13‑week discipline capacity view and all assignment decisions affecting discipline employees.
• Establish the minimum discipline execution-planning standard and ensure qualified leads develop and maintain right-sized engineering execution plans.
• Lead or approve discipline proposal and estimate inputs, including scope, deliverables, hours, staffing, and risks.
• Own discipline technical standards, checklists, and reviews; ensure closures before release.
• Partner with Project Managers to align scope, schedule, budget, changes, and client commitments.
• Maintain visibility into capacity, workload, and capability gaps; act early or elevate when needed.
• Provide discipline-specific technical leadership for structural analysis and calculations across foundations, supports, and related systems.
