Job summary

J2T Recruiting is seeking a Structural Engineering Discipline Lead to shape the firm's design standards across multiple offices and balance technical design with executive leadership. You will steer the discipline, mentor engineers, and drive high-quality project outcomes.

This role offers a 50/50 split between technical work and leadership, with cross-office collaboration and a path to influence the firm's strategic direction while maintaining client satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and active PE license.
• 10+ years of progressive structural engineering design and PM experience.
• Wood structural systems expertise; also steel, concrete, masonry.
• Proficient in Revit for structural design and modeling.
• Strong reasoning, organization, confidence and communication.

Responsibilities

• Drive Technical Standards: Establish, refine, enforce firm-wide structural engineering standards, guidelines, and QA procedures.
• Lead Discipline Huddles: Facilitate cross-office structural huddles to address complex design challenges, resolve technical disagreements, and ensure team-wide alignment.
• Manage & Design Projects: Oversee structural scope delivery, hands-on project design, align project schedules, and manage budget metrics.
• Mentor Structural Staff: Provide ongoing technical guidance, support, and mentorship to structural engineers and Engineers-in-Training across offices.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner directly with the Quality Officer and Studio Leads to streamline project execution and maintain client satisfaction.
