Job summary

WSP USA offers hundreds of internships nationwide, including a Baltimore-based summer internship in the Bridge and Structure team. This 12-week program starts May 17, 2027, with start dates flexible. Interns gain hands-on experience, mentorship, and exposure to real projects alongside senior staff.

Required enrollment in Civil Engineering (Bachelor's) or related degree program with an anticipated December 2027 graduation or later. No relocation or housing assistance provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Bachelor's degree program in Civil Engineering, or related Undergraduate program with anticipated graduation date December 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 or older.
• Demonstrated interest in Structural Engineering and desire to advance skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, and tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to policies.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical, social, and ethical skills.
• Learn basic principles of Structural Engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by business needs.
