Job summary

Merrick & Company in Albuquerque, NM is seeking a college or graduate student for a paid Summer 2027 internship in Structural Engineering. This program provides hands-on experience on real projects, mentorship, and exposure to multidisciplinary teams within an employee-owned firm.

Intern will engage in steel and concrete design, foundation design, drafting and detailing, and analysis, collaborating with engineers, designers, and clients while following schedules and budgets.

Qualifications

• Must have graduation date after August 2027 to be eligible.
• Currently enrolled and entering junior year of undergraduate degree or higher.
• Pursuing an engineering degree in Civil (structural emphasis) or Structural Engineering at an ABET accredited program.
• Completed basic statics and mechanics of materials coursework.
• Good written and oral communication skills.
• Client projects require U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Assist with steel and concrete design, foundation design, and detailing.
• Collaborate with engineers, designers, and clients; follow schedules and budgets.
