Job summary

HDR, Inc. in Providence, RI, is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern/Co-Op to gain real-world experience on exciting projects under the supervision of licensed professionals.

You will apply standard engineering techniques, participate in mentoring programs, and contribute to a collaborative, employee-owned culture valued by HDR as we tackle infrastructure challenges with innovation and teamwork. Preference is given to local candidates.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.

• CAD knowledge and basic design coursework in steel or concrete.
• Active participation in HDR's employee-owned culture is required.

Primary Responsibilities

In the role of Structural Engineering Intern/Co-Op, we'll count on you to:

• Offer real-world experience on exciting projects
• Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs
• Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures
• Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager
• Perform other duties as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering or structural engineering related program
• CAD knowledge and skills
• Either Steel or Concrete Design coursework completed
• Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
• Strong preference given to local candidates
