Job summary

HDR invites undergraduate and graduate engineering students to join our Transportation Business Group in a part-time, temporary role. You will gain real-world experience on exciting projects while connecting with company leaders through mentoring programs and young professionals initiatives.

This internship emphasizes applying standard engineering techniques under supervision, and developing problem-solving and communication skills in a collaborative, employee-owned culture.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Engineering program.
  • Possess strong problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Basic Microsoft Office skills.
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must.

Responsibilities

  • Offer real-world experience on exciting projects.
  • Connect with recent college graduates and our company leaders through mentoring and young professionals programs.
  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.
  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.
  • Perform other duties as needed.

Primary Responsibilities

Preferred Qualifications
  • Must be currently enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate Civil Engineering or structural engineering related program
  • CAD knowledge and skills
  • Either Steel or Concrete Design coursework completed
  • Prefer 2 years completed toward degree with 3.0+ GPA
  • Strong preference given to local candidates
Required Qualifications

  • Basic Microsoft Office skills
