Job summary

IMEG Corporation in Farmington Hills, MI invites applicants for a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10-12 week summer program. You will assist in analysis, design, and oversight of structural systems across various building types while collaborating with experienced engineers.

You will join a structural team serving commercial and institutional markets with exposure to education, housing, automotive, industrial, and municipal projects, contributing to sustainable design goals.

Qualifications

  • Completed at least 2 years towards a BS degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required
  • Experience: None listed
  • Strong interest in design consulting
  • Proficient with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software
  • Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written form

Responsibilities

  • Assist with structural design portions of projects according to code and IMEG standards
  • Assist with researching and finding resources related to projects
  • Support client relations, project documentation, and permanent record files
  • Coordinate design and schedules with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical, and supplier teams
  • Document design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring progress
  • Review all project documents for accuracy before final checks
  • Prepare and issue addendum information
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and other duties as required by the contract services agreement

IMEG is hiring a Structural Engineering Intern in Farmington Hills, MI. Over 10-12 weeks, you'll assist in the analysis, design, and implementation oversight of structural systems for a variety of building types while working closely with experienced engineers and consultants.

You'll collaborate across disciplines, support project documentation and quality reviews, and contribute to work delivered within project budgets and client expectations. You'll join a structural team serving commercial and institutional markets, with experience across education, housing, automotive and industrial, and municipal projects, contributing to sustainable design goals including SE2050.

What You'll Do

What You'll Bring

Required Education

  • Will have limited exposure to outside weather conditions and loud noises

Pay Range: $22.00 - 24.00 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations, the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors, including the candidate's experience, education, knowledge, skills, abilities, and licensure and certifications.
