Job summary

IMEG is seeking a Structural Engineering Intern for a 10–12 week summer program in Fort Worth, TX. You’ll support design, coordination, and site observations under experienced engineers, contributing to civic, education, and infrastructure projects in the Dallas–Fort Worth area.

The role offers hands-on project work, mentorship, and exposure to BIM and AutoCAD, with a clear path to potential full-time roles at IMEG.

Qualifications

• Pursuing BS in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering with ≥2 years completed.
• Strong interest in design consulting for structural systems.
• Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or BIM software preferred.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project design for discipline systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
• Assist with project research and resource gathering.
• Assist with client relations, project design notebook maintenance, and permanent record documentation.
• Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical and suppliers.
• Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
• Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check.
• Assist with the preparation and issuance of addendum information.
• Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
