Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers is offering a Structural Engineering Intern position in the Boise area. You will work with experienced engineers on real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience in design, analysis, and construction processes.

The role provides exposure to structural analysis, modeling, and design, with opportunities to contribute ideas to improve project efficiency and integrity during a 10–12 week summer internship.

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in a Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil or architectural engineering.
• Completion of statics, mechanics of materials, and at least one design course (concrete, steel, wood, masonry) by start.
• Completed coursework in Structural Statics.
• Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong technical and organizational capabilities, with the ability to work collaboratively.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with seasoned engineers on structural projects during design, analysis, and construction phases.
• Conduct structural analysis, simulations, and calculations using RAM, RISA, and CSI software.
• Participate in site visits, gaining practical insights into construction processes.
• Contribute to team discussions and problem-solving efforts, bringing fresh perspectives to the project.
