Job summary

IMEG is offering a 10–12 week summer internship in Dallas, TX, focused on structural design support for civic, education, and public projects. The program provides mentorship, hands‑on project work, and a clear path to full‑time roles for top performers.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Civil/Structural/Architectural Engineering with 2+ years completed, and are proficient with MS Office and CAD/BIM tools. Prior internship in building design is a plus.

What You'll Do
  • Assist with project design for discipline systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.
  • Assist with project research and resource gathering.
  • Assist with client relations, project design notebook maintenance, and permanent record documentation.
  • Assist with coordinating design and schedule with other disciplines, including architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, technology, clerical and suppliers.
  • Assist with documenting design decisions, meetings, and client instructions while monitoring project design progress.
  • Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check.
  • Assist with the preparation and issuance of addendum information.
  • Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.
What You'll Bring
  • Education: Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering, or equivalent, required.
  • Experience: None listed.
  • Required Skills/Abilities: Strong interest in design consulting. Proficient with MS Office Suite including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook. Skilled in AutoCAD and/or Building Information Modeling (BIM) software. Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups.
  • Preferred: Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred.

Texas-based structural team with a strong public‑sector and existing‑building specialty, including forensics, facility condition assessments, historic preservation/adaptive reuse, detention/courthouse work, and parking garage restoration.

Recent work includes Tarrant County / Fort Worth, TX / Law Enforcement Training Center, Government (City/County/State), and City of Fort Worth / Fort Worth, TX / Fort Worth Convention Center Phase 2 - New Construction, Government (City/County/State).
