Job summary

KPFF Consulting Engineers in Birmingham seeks a Structural Engineering Group Leader to grow the local practice while delivering high‑profile projects nationwide. You will lead a team of engineers and BIM specialists, mentor staff, and develop client relationships to expand KPFF’s Birmingham presence.

The role emphasizes leadership, business development, and technical depth across materials and delivery methods, with opportunity to influence strategy and resources regionally.

Qualifications

• PE license is required for the role.
• SE license preferred but not mandatory.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering with advanced degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience including leadership of complex projects.
• Minimum 3 years leading teams of three or more engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow KPFF’s structural engineering group in Birmingham, expanding local presence and client base.
• Mentor and develop a high-performing team of engineers and BIM modelers.
• Strengthen client relationships and pursue new opportunities for growth, locally and nationally.
• Provide technical and project leadership across structural systems, materials and delivery methods.
