KPFF Consulting Engineers in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Structural Engineer to lead a diverse portfolio from concept through construction. You’ll establish and maintain client relationships, collaborate with BIM professionals, and guide engineers across projects with autonomy to grow in technical leadership and business development.

The role emphasizes mentorship, technical excellence, and national impact, with leadership support from local and national leadership to grow your career.

Qualifications

• PE license required; SE license preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Architectural Engineering; Master’s degree preferred.
• 8+ years of progressive structural engineering experience with leadership and client interaction.
• Strong background in project management and coordinating with owners, contractors, and other disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of structural engineering projects from concept through construction.
• Manage project scope, schedule, budgets, and team resources.
• Serve as a technical leader and mentor for engineers and BIM professionals.
• Collaborate with clients, architects, contractors, and internal teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Oversee engineering calculations, drawings, specifications, and reports.
• Ensure compliance with building codes and industry standards.
• Participate in structural assessments, feasibility studies, and site investigations as needed.
• Foster a collaborative, mentorship-driven culture focused on technical excellence and long-term growth.
• Support KPFF’s vision of building strong teams and impactful engineering solutions.
