Responsibilities :
- Support project delivery to the satisfaction of customers
- Perform projects strategically and aggressively so that projects and tasks are successfully completed in a logical and timely manner
- Perform a variety of engineering tasks as required by management and customers
- Ensure that plans, reports, calculations, etc. are following all relevant building codes and project standards
- Take ownership of projects and work oriented towards results
- Provide excellent client service by constantly and effectively communicating with customers, staff, project team members, and public agencies on all issues
- Take steps in professional development and progressing towards getting professionally licensed
- Complete engineering projects and tasks to the satisfaction of the Project Managers and customers
- Provide accurate and professional structural engineering calculations, reports, and details
- Understand project budgets to ensure alignment with company goals
- Resolve customer disputes for engineering projects to ensure overall client satisfaction
- Ensure that new engineering contracts are being quickly and accurately processed / all engineering plans and calculations are stamped and signed
- Take ownership of assignment / project with minimal delays or plan check corrections, and minimal assistance from the management
- Confirm that the correct design and specification standards are being used
Structural Project Manager
- In charge of project delivery to the satisfaction of customers
- Oversee day-to-day project management
- Stamp and sign all plans, calculations, specifications, etc. that the work team prepared
- Provide excellent client service by constantly and effectively communicating with customers, staff, project team members, and public agencies on all issues
- Take ownership of assignment / project with minimal delays or plan check corrections, and minimal assistance from upper management
- Implement and evaluate the firm's WPs and ensure they are in alignment with the company’s objectives
- Continuously look to improve the project procedures
- Reduce the number of errors and increase overall productivity
Requirements
- Education – Bachelor’s Degree from a U.S. institution (Civil Engineering preferred)
- Structural Engineering – Minimum five (5) years experience for Engineer III and Project Engineer roles, at least eight (8) years for Project Manager; must have recent structural design experience in California, with proficiency in wood and either concrete or steel
- Project Experience – Experience in structural design projects located in Southern California, specifically small to medium-sized buildings or structures
- Certification – EIT required for Engineer III; PE in California for Project Engineer; PE or SE in California for Project Manager
- Computer Skills – Proficient in MS Office, EnerCalc, RISA 3D or other finite element modeling tools; plus Project Management tools (Deltek Vision preferred) for Project Manager
- Work Setting & Physical Expectations – Must be willing and able to work onsite five (5) days a week, including climbing ladders and working at heights as required at project sites
- Communication Skills – Strong written and verbal communication skills required
