Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Structural Engineer to join our growing team in Charlotte, NC. The role involves independently performing structural designs under guidance from a Principal or Senior PM, with knowledge of concrete, steel, and timber.

• Utilize a range of engineering software tools to support CAD and analysis.
• Attend on-site meetings and conduct inspections during various stages of construction.
• Draft formal written reports summarizing field observations and construction progress.
• Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the design and construction process.

In this role, you’ll be expected to independently perform structural designs with guidance from a Principal or Senior Project Manager. A solid working knowledge of various construction materials—including concrete, steel, and timber is essential.

Responsibilities

• Perform structural calculations using engineering fundamentals and applicable building codes.


• Utilize a range of engineering software tools to support computer-aided design and analysis.


• Attend on-site meetings and conduct inspections during various stages of construction.


• Draft formal written reports summarizing field observations and construction progress.

MUST HAVE

• B.S. in Civil Engineering with a focus on structural engineering.


• E.I.T. (Engineer-in-Training) certification required; newly licensed P.E. encouraged!


• 3-8 years of experience with a variety of structural systems and materials, including structural steel, mild and post-tensioned concrete, wood, and masonry.


• AutoCAD and/or Revit
