Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Structural Engineering, Civil Engineering, or Architectural Engineering with a Structural Emphasis.
• Professional Engineer (PE) License.
• 4 - 6 years of Structural Engineering Experience as a Licensed Professional Engineer.
• 3+ years' experience with AutoDesk Revit BIM Software.

Responsibilities

• Designs and prepares drawings for all structural systems for building projects including gravity load and lateral loads, foundation plans, and framing plans that will withstand gravity, wind, and seismic forces and adhere to governing codes and public safety requirements.
• Coordinates project designs with other disciplines including architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, civil, etc.
• Performs quality control review of structural drawings.
• Mentors and directs the work of Structural Designers in order to ensure quality control and professional development.
• Attends meetings with owners, clients, and/or architects as needed; Prepares and distributes meeting notes.
• Conducts site surveys to determine existing facility conditions.
• Conducts project job site visits during construction to monitor progress and ensure conformance to design specifications, owner expectations, and building codes.
