Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Structural/Civil/Architectural Engineering with a structural emphasis.
• PE license required.
• 6–8 years of structural engineering experience as a licensed PE.
• Ability to design 10+ story buildings and complex framing systems; seismic wind loads; and related design.
• 5+ years of experience with AutoDesk Revit BIM Software.

Responsibilities

• Designs and prepares drawings for all structural systems for building projects including gravity and lateral loads, foundation plans, and framing plans.
• Determines size and orientation of structural members via calculations.
• Coordinates project designs with architectural, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection, civil, etc.
• Performs quality control review of structural drawings.
• Writes and edits structural system specifications.
• Attends meetings with owners, clients, and architects; prepares meeting notes.
• Coordinates with authorities to ensure code compliance.
• Coordinates with suppliers, contractors, clients, and representatives to determine project scope.
• Performs engineering studies and other design analyses.
• Mentors and directs Structural Designers to ensure quality and development.
• Conducts site surveys and project visits; prepares punch lists and observation reports.
• Reviews submittal documents and approves/rejects per drawings.
• Assists PM in budgets, cost estimates, schedules, contracts, and billing.
• Supports QA for all disciplines.
