Job summary

TekWissen Group is hiring an experienced Civil/Structural Engineer to act as Owner’s Engineer for a major natural gas pipeline project in Texas. You will lead structural design activities, manage interfaces with contractors, and ensure code compliance across API, ASCE, ACI, and AISC standards.

The role requires 10 years in oil and gas, a 4-year degree in structural engineering, and frequent travel up to 75% of the time to project sites in the Gulf Coast region.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4-year accredited degree in Structural Engineering.
• 10 years of oil and gas industry experience, including Gulf Coast projects.
• TX Professional Engineer registration preferred but not mandatory.
• Expert knowledge of API, ASCE, ACI, and AISC codes and standards.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% of the time to project sites.

Responsibilities

• Provide Civil and Structural Engineering Leadership as Owner’s Engineer for a new natural gas pipeline project.
• Support development and execution of Civil/Structural activities including plots, piping, foundations, load assessments, stress analysis, data sheets, surveys, geotechnical & soil tests.
• Review structural design deliverables, bid packages, and coordinate with engineering, operations and fabrication teams.
• Serve as primary technical contact with engineering contractors for structural activities.
• Coordinate design input for construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup of facilities.
• Address technical issues across project phases related to structural packages.
• Manage engineering, procurement, and construction contractors to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
• Develop project schedules and participate in project / construction management.

Summary:

• Act as Owner’s Engineer in the management of engineering, design and all structural related technical aspects for a new natural gas pipeline, the pipe bridge, structural components for a Pressure Control Skid, and various platforms.


• Provide technical leadership and to all operational, regulatory and project driven activities including structural design for gas pipeline design and construction.

Responsibilities:

• Provide Civil and Structural Engineering Leadership as Owner’s Engineer for new natural gas pipeline project.


• Support the development and execution of Civil/Structural activities including plot plans, piping plans, foundation details, load assessments, stress analysis, Data Sheets, structural details, surveys, geotechnical & soil tests, etc.


• Participate in development and review of all Structural design deliverables, preparing and evaluating bid packages, and interacting with engineering, operation and fabrication disciplines


• Provides technical support to all aspects of the project and acts as the primary point of contact with the engineering contractors for Structural related activities


• Perform complex technical and administrative tasks relative to the Design and coordination of structural packages.


• Provide technical input and review of the design, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup of facilities.


• Address technical issues arising in all phases of the project development related to structural packages of the facilities.


• Responsible for project development: engineering studies, technical bid reviews, preliminary engineering, detail designs, materials procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, handover, commissioning and startup.


• Review/provide input to the design of structural packages that fully complies with Operator standards and specifications.


• Manage the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction Contractors through project execution to ensure Structural activities are completed on-time and within budget


• Provide design input in identification, sizing, selection, procurement of structural material Project scope and economic development


• Basic project economic evaluation, including cost estimating and generation of AFEs


• Development of project schedules


• Project / construction management

Qualifications & Experience:

• Minimum 4-year accredited degree in Structural Engineering.


• 10 years of oil and gas industry experience including Gulf Coast projects


• Registration as a Professional Engineer in TX is strongly preferred but not mandatory


• Expert knowledge of common engineering practices and Industrial codes including API, ASCE, ACI, and AISC and other related codes and standards


• Communicate effectively and take on the required project challenges


• Self-motivated worker requiring minimal supervision


• Must be willing to travel up to 75% of time to project locations as required
