This is a Houston, TX based full-time position for the engineering of oil & gas pipelines, and related facilities. Duties of role to include the civil/structural design of site development, equipment and piping supports related to various upstream and midstream facilities for onshore and offshore projects. Candidate must be knowledgeable of the related ACI, AISC and API codes as well as some familiar with regulatory requirements.
Essential Functions
- Geotechnical investigation specification, coordination, and results review
- Cut / fill / grading plans
- Drainage
- Able to design site drainage tocomply withlocal authority / jurisdictional requirements. Preference for experience in coastal Texas and Louisiana
- Permit drawing development and sealing for oil and gas facility and pipeline projects to include
- Pipeline crossings of highways, railroads, water bodies, drainage channels, etc.
- Other permitted infrastructure such as driveway permits, traffic control plans, etc.
- Foundation design for oil and gas equipment and pipelines
- Structural steel design – preferred but lower priority than the above
- Prepareengineeringreports, design calculations, drawings, and technical specifications related to pipeline and facility design and construction
- Visitjob-sitesto evaluatesite, project requirements, and conditions.
- Interface with other disciplines on a multi-disciplinary team (survey,mechanical, electrical, and/or instrumentation)
- Developpermit packages,construction drawing packages and contractor specifications for oil and gas pipelineand facilityprojects.
- Identifyopportunities for improvement of work products and standards.
- Meetdeadlines working on multiple projects and/or with multipleclients with minimum supervision andtakeresponsibility for planning and prioritizing tasks.
- Maintain a high standard of work performance andensuringthat all done isin accordance withthe standards of the company and client.
- Strongcommunications skills and ability to interreact directlywith clients, suppliers, upper management, and construction personnel
Qualifications
- Minimum Qualifications:
- Minimum0-5years’ experiencein the project and detailed engineering ofoil & gasupstream and/or midstream related facilities.
- Abilityto communicate effectively with others verbally and in writing.
- Must be Able to Work for any US Employer.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Medium/large multi-discipline project lead experience
- Permittingexperience for development of new oil and gas facilities or pipelines
Education
- Bachelor’s Degree from an ABET accredited university in CivilEngineering.
Certification/License:
Physical Expectations:
- Must be able to lift objects weighing up to 50lbs
- Must be able to stand, kneel, and walk forlong periodsof time
- Must pass background check and be able to pass both a pre-employment & random drug test(s)
- Must be able to travel occasionally up to 25% including overnight travel to various locations & customer sites to provide service based on business needs
- Duties performed indoors & outdoors with exposure to weather and elements.
