Job summary

Garver’s Buildings team in Dallas seeks an entry-level Structural Engineer in Training to assist with analysis, design, detailing and construction administration for steel, concrete, cold-formed, masonry and wood systems.

Qualified candidates hold a ABET-accredited bachelor’s in civil or architectural engineering with a structural emphasis, are eligible for EIT (or will register within 6 months), and show strong communication and teamwork skills, plus proficiency with MS Office and BIM tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Registered Engineer In Training (EIT) or ability to become registered within 6 months of start date
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and a good team player.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing.
• Perform construction administration, including reviewing shop drawings, RFIs, conducting site observations, and preparing reports.
• Utilize BIM design software to produce structural drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Assist project managers and follow QA/QC plans.
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Continue education and learning based on project and team needs.
• Collaborate with architects and contractors.
