Job summary

Garver's San Antonio office is seeking a Structural Engineer in Training (EIT) to join the Buildings Team. You will develop structural designs and documentation for diverse projects, performing analyses, detailing, and construction administration across structural systems including Structural Steel, Reinforced Concrete, Cold-Formed Steel, Reinforced Masonry, and Structural Wood.

This entry-level role emphasizes collaboration with architects and contractors, QA/QC, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited Bachelor's in civil or architectural engineering with a structural emphasis.
• EIT certification or ability to become registered within 6 months.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and a good team player.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing.
• Perform construction administration, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, conducting site observations, and preparing reports.
• Utilize BIM design software to produce structural drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Assist project managers and follow QA/QC plans.
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Continue education and learning based on project and team needs.
• Collaborate with architects and contractors.
