Job summary

Garver in Houston is seeking a Structural Engineer in Training (entry level) to develop structural designs and documentation for Buildings Team, including analysis, design, detailing, and construction administration across structural systems. The role collaborates with architects and contractors and uses BIM tools to produce drawings.

The position requires a ABET-accredited degree and EIT eligibility within 6 months. Excellent communication and teamwork are essential assets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering or architectural engineering with a structural emphasis from an ABET-accredited institution.
• Registered Engineer In Training (EIT) or ability to become registered within 6 months of start date.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Self-motivated and a good team player.
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite.
• Willingness to learn and collaborate across disciplines.

Responsibilities

• Conduct structural analysis, design, and detailing.
• Perform construction administration, including reviewing shop drawings, responding to RFIs, conducting site observations, and preparing reports.
• Utilize BIM design software to produce structural drawings.
• Coordinate with other disciplines.
• Assist project managers and follow QA/QC plans.
• Manage multiple assignments concurrently.
• Continue education and learning based on project and team needs.
