Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Engineer for Chandler, AZ, performing analysis, design and testing on missile and space structures. The role requires interpreting data, applying FE methods, and producing technical reports to support development and qualification efforts.

Essential qualifications include a STEM degree with related experience and the ability to obtain a US Government Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in a STEM field with related engineering experience
• Ability to obtain a US Government Secret security clearance
• Strong structural analysis background
• Ability to read engineering drawings and specifications
• Familiarity with finite element analysis and structural mechanics
• Computer skills with standard word processing
• Ability to listen, take direction, and work independently
• Ability to lead a team in safe structural load testing

Responsibilities

• Under minimal direction, perform structural engineering analysis, design, or testing tasks
• Apply engineering techniques to solve analytical problems
• Stress and bolted joint analysis of ground support equipment and flight structures
• Use FEMAP, NX NASTRAN, MathCAD for analyses
• Produce engineering documentation and reports to support design and testing
• Gather, interpret and summarize flight/test data and material reports
• Read and apply engineering drawings and specifications
• Lead a team in safely executing structural load testing
• Interpret customer requirements for analyses and deliverables
• Support design, integration and testing efforts
