Job summary

ANS is seeking a Structural Engineer II to join the growing structural team on renewable energy projects (PV, BESS, HV) in Raleigh, NC. The role involves performing structural analysis and design with guidance, applying codes across diverse project types, and collaborating with the civil design team.

You will work with RISA, Excel, LPILE, and potentially VBA/Python, while pursuing EIT/FE and PE licensure. A bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering and 1+ years of experience are required.

Qualifications

• ABET-accredited bachelor’s degree in structural/civil engineering
• 1+ year structural engineering experience; EIT/FE preferred
• Proficiency with structural analysis software (RISA) and Excel; VBA/Python a plus
• Ability to work with minimal supervision and communicate across disciplines

Responsibilities

• Perform structural analysis and design for foundations (driven piles, screw and helical piles, and cast-in-place concrete), overhead steel structures, building envelopes, and non-building structures
• Apply codes and standards — ASCE 7, IBC, NESC, ASCE 113, IEEE 693, and NFPA — to design tasks
• Adhere to applicable Client, EPC, Owner, and Utility standards on all assigned work
• Coordinate with designers and the civil design team to develop drawings, details, and foundation BOMs across project areas
• Use Excel, RISA, and LPILE to produce and document calculations
• Expand technical breadth, support less-experienced staff, and progress toward EIT/FE and PE licensure
