Job summary

Ulteig Engineers, Inc. seeks a Lead Structural Engineer - Renewables to support utility-scale solar and battery storage projects. You will engage with civil, structural, and electrical design teams to provide innovative design solutions from development through construction.

The role requires a PE/SE license, 7+ years of structural experience, and proficiency in pile foundations and design software. Office-based with travel to client sites and conferences as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program or equivalent.
• Civil and/or Structural Professional Engineer (PE) registration required; SE registration strongly preferred.
• Minimum of 7+ years structural engineering experience.
• Experience on utility-scale solar projects in a fast-paced consulting environment preferred.
• Proficiency in LPile, APile, or equivalent, and RISA 3D/STAAD.
• Ability to interpret geotechnical data and communicate risks to team/client.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Engineer of Record for renewable structural projects across multiple jurisdictions.
• Perform foundation design, pile analysis, and coordinate with civil/electrical design teams.
• Review geotechnical reports and field data to guide downstream design.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers.
• Ensure constructability, safety, and risk management in plans.
• Travel to client sites and conferences as needed.
