Job summary

Vigor Marine Group in Washington state is seeking a Structural Engineer II to support vessel structural design, analysis, CNC lofting, and production integration for our marine fabrication programs.

You will design structures, perform analysis, support fabrication, ensure ABS and other standards compliance, and collaborate with planners and engineers to deliver safe, reliable vessels.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering required; Naval Architecture/Marine Engineering preferred
• Five years of marine experience required; vessel design and construction experience preferred
• Experience with CFR, Classing Society rules, ABYC, IEEE, and military contracts preferred
• Familiarity with ABS standards
• Strong problem-solving and communication in a shipyard environment
• Excellent documentation and reporting skills

Responsibilities

• Design vessel structures and produce models, drawings, and BOMs
• Perform structural analysis and CNC lofting/nesting
• Support fabrication and installation teams throughout construction
• Evaluate non-conformances and resolve structural engineering issues
• Coordinate with planners, weld engineers, and production leads
• Ensure compliance with ABS, USCG, NAVSEA, AISC, CFR, ABYC, IEEE and other standards
• Support weight, stability, and structural integration assessments
• Participate in sea trials and support estimators during project planning
