Job summary

Ghostworks Marine, based in Holland, MI, seeks a Structures Analysis Lead to act as the top technical authority for structural analysis of composite marine vessels. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in structural, mechanical, or aerospace engineering or equivalent.
• Significant hands-on experience in structural analysis of composite marine or aerospace structures (FEM).
• Ability to independently own structural analysis from load case definition to final sign-off.
• Strong knowledge of composite material behavior, laminate theory, and failure modes.
• Experience with classification society scantlings rules: ISO 12215, DNV HSLC, BV.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; U.S. citizenship is required for government work.

Responsibilities

• Serve as final reviewer and approver for structural analysis deliverables (hand calcs, FEM, load cases).
• Establish and maintain structural analysis methodology, standards, and best practices.
• Lead analysis of hulls, decks, bulkheads, foundations, and appendages for composite construction.
• Define and validate static, dynamic, slamming, and fatigue load cases.
• Review analyses by junior to senior analysts and provide mentorship.
• Interface with classification societies and military authorities on certification.
• Collaborate with Naval Architecture and Manufacturing to resolve design/build issues.
• Own structural analysis documentation standards for traceability and audit-readiness.
• Drive continuous improvement in tools, processes, and methods across programs.
