Huntington Ingalls Industries, Inc. is seeking a Structural Engineer for Newport News Shipbuilding. You will analyze materials, assess damage tolerance, and support design reviews across structural systems, with emphasis on safety and compliance.

Requires a Bachelor’s in engineering (ABET-accredited) and at least 2 years of experience; a Master’s degree is welcome. On-site role with relocation assistance and a competitive salary.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in engineering from an ABET-accredited program.
Master’s Degree acceptable for advancement.
ABET accreditation preferred for structural roles.

Responsibilities

Analyze and develop structural engineering specifications for metals, non-metals, or composites.
Assess damage tolerance, durability, and design allowables for facilities and equipment.
Lead design reviews and evaluations to ensure compliance with codes and LRSP goals.
Coordinate with internal/external teams on structural-related issues and field support.
