Job summary
EM Structural in Charlotte, NC is seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join its growing team. You’ll work on a diverse portfolio across the Southeast, from high-rise to multifamily and commercial projects, applying steel, concrete, PT concrete, masonry and wood design.
From concept through construction, you’ll collaborate with architects, contractors and developers, perform analyses, prepare calculations, and contribute to value engineering.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required.
- 3+ years of structural engineering experience on building projects.
- EIT or licensure progression preferred.
- Experience with steel, reinforced concrete, PT concrete, masonry or wood.
- Proficient in structural analysis/design software and building codes.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis and design for steel, concrete, PT concrete, masonry and wood.
- Design gravity and lateral systems for multifamily, commercial and other buildings.
- Prepare calculations, drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with architects, contractors and developers.
- Support project delivery and constructability discussions.
- Utilize BIM and analysis software to develop coordinated designs.
- Ensure compliance with IBC, ASCE 7, ACI, AISC and NDS.
