We are hiring at the Design Engineer level in our Anaheim, LA, and Sacramento offices.

Compensation: The annual pay range for this Design Engineer position generally falls between $104,000 and $117,000. This estimate complies with pay transparency laws and actual pay will depend on factors such as location, education, and experience.

Job Description: This staff engineering role requires the ability to work independently with limited supervision and to provide guidance to junior staff and BIM/CAD Specialists.

Responsibilities:

  • Apply quality control techniques as per the Quality Assurance Manual.
  • Prepare contract deliverables such as models, drawings, specifications, and notes for review.
  • Conduct field checks and observations, documenting notes and sketches.
  • Develop calculation packages and technical reports.
  • Lead small projects as the Lead Engineer.
  • Use judgment to adapt methods for non-routine tasks.
  • Ask questions to ensure understanding of design philosophy.
  • Engage effectively with clients and team members outside Degenkolb.

Requirements:

  • MS in Structural Engineering with 3-5+ years of professional experience in structural/seismic engineering.
  • PE license required, licensed in Washington or California.
  • Proven ability to perform core duties.
  • Participation in professional activities related to structural or earthquake engineering is a plus.
  • Strong professional communication skills.
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. for any employer.
