Job Description

The purpose of this position is to provide essential administrative processes, technical knowledge, and perform the work listed. This role promotes Fluor’s competitiveness in the global marketplace by delivering quality services of unmatched value and technical competence. It supports the Area Lead or Lead on assigned projects, applying standard engineering techniques to medium difficulty assignments.

  1. Apply Cost Competitive Execution techniques to develop cost-effective project solutions for discipline engineering work.
  2. Develop and review specifications, including design criteria.
  3. Participate in equipment and material procurement, permitting, and subcontracting activities.
  4. Perform and review calculations, specify equipment, and solve moderate to complex engineering problems.
  5. Review vendor equipment documentation for compliance and resolve discrepancies.
  6. Analyze problems and make independent recommendations aligned with organizational and project goals.
  7. Perform other duties as assigned.

Basic Job Requirements
  • Accredited four-year degree in engineering and four years of related experience; professional certification or registration if required; additional local qualifications may apply.
  • Effective communication skills with diverse audiences.
  • Technical knowledge necessary for the role.
  • Ability to learn and apply local, state, and federal statutes and guidelines.
  • Attention to detail and effective time management.
  • Professional registration preferred.
  • Knowledge of discipline codes, standards, and materials.

Other Job Requirements
  • U.S. Citizenship required.
  • Knowledge of structural calculations, software like STAADPro and Mathcad, and structural analysis including wind and seismic loading.
  • Experience in procurement, construction, vendor drawing review, and project management.
  • Basic knowledge of blast design.
  • Effort-hour estimating and staff forecasting.
  • Ability to manage and lead small projects.
  • Remote work flexibility with periodic travel.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in STAADPro and Mathcad.
  • Professional Engineer registration.
  • Practical field experience and EPC project experience, especially with US Department of Energy or nuclear facilities.
Salary Range

$84,000 to $146,000, determined by qualifications, experience, location, and market conditions.
