Description

This role offers a hybrid work arrangement. You'll spend three days a week in the office, giving you the flexibility to work remotely for two days.

This Structural Engineer 2 position presents interesting and challenging opportunities in structural engineering and offers an excellent career advancement path. You will collaborate with a team of structural engineers, interface with engineers from other disciplines, and guide less experienced project team members. Your work will involve engineering projects for new nuclear facilities, as well as upgrades and modifications to nuclear power plants.

  • You will directly apply your knowledge of materials, structural analysis, steel design, and reinforced concrete design.
  • As part of an engineering and design team, you'll work on diverse projects for various clients, preparing and reviewing design calculations, developing specifications, and supporting drawing development.
  • Utilizing state-of-the-art computer tools, you'll perform structural analysis and design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, and foundations.
  • There is potential for travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews and to plant sites for construction coordination and field verification.
Qualifications

Essential skills and experience:
  • BS degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
  • Experience working as part of a project team in the design and analysis of structures, including AISC steel and ACI concrete designs
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
Valued but not required:
  • Experience with structural analysis software such as STAAD, SAP2000, SAFE, STRUDL, or ANSYS
  • Knowledge of design codes and standards like ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI
