Job summary

Entech Engineering, Inc. is seeking a senior Structural Engineer to join our Civil and Environmental Resources team in Reading, PA.

You’ll design structural components, develop calculations, drawings and specifications for diverse projects and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver precise, constructible solutions. Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with emphasis in structures (ABET accredited).
  • 8+ years as Structural Engineer with PA Professional Engineer license.
  • Hands-on with CAD software; AutoCAD and/or REVIT a plus.
  • Collaborative design approach with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design structural components and produce calculations, drawings and specifications for various project types.
  • Participate in early planning and proposal reviews and assess civil/regulatory factors.
  • Determine practical strength, durability, and cost-benefit information.
  • Create structural models using CAD software.
  • Collaborate with PMs and multiple disciplines; project management duties may be included.

Are you a detail-oriented structural design professional with a passion for creating practical, high-quality designs that make an impact? We’re looking for an experienced Structural Engineer to join our Civil and Environmental Resources team. In this full-time role, you’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary engineers and architects to deliver precise, constructible designs for a variety of industrial, municipal, and renovation projects.

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Design structural com ponents and document production (calculations, drawings and specifications) for a variety of project types and sizes
  • Participate in collaborative project teams in the initial planning and proposal processes, may include cursory review of environmental factors, government regulations, construction costs and risk analysis
  • Determine practical applications, strength and durability expectations and cost-benefits information
  • Create structural models using computer-aided design software
  • Collaborate with project managers and other discipline team members including civil, architectural, mechanical and electrical to creatively solve competing design challenges
  • Depending on experience level, project management responsibilities may be included
Requirements
QUALIFICATION AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering or Civil Engineering with an emphasis in structures obtained from ABET accredited university/college

8 + years of working experience as a Structural Engineer with PA Professional Engineer license

Hands on experience with computer-aided design software as well as AutoCAD and/or REVIT a plus, not required

Collaborative design approach with excellent written and verbal communication skills

PREFERRED SKILLS
  • Experience working with consulting firm preferred
  • Municipal water/wastewater and industrial and/or building renovation experience preferred
  • Experience specifying and designing architectural components associated with municipal water and wastewater projects
