Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Lead preparation and coordination of AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawing packages from concept to final deliverables.
• Develop plan views, profiles, sections, details, diagrams, and exhibits from engineering data.
• Interpret sketches, survey info, design criteria into complete drawing sets.
• Perform CAD quality-control reviews for layering, annotation, dimensions, and standards.
• Coordinate drawing production with engineers, PMs, survey staff; resolve drafting issues.
• Establish and maintain project CAD setup, templates, references, blocks, and file-management.
• Prepare final plots and electronic deliverables; ensure packages are complete and legible.

Entech Engineering is looking for a Senior Drafter with strong AutoCAD and Civil 3D experience to develop and coordinate high-quality engineering drawing packages. You'll collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams, perform CAD quality control, support project delivery, and provide technical guidance to junior drafting staff. 5+ years of drafting/design experience preferred.

Requirements

ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead the preparation and coordination of complex AutoCAD and Civil 3D drawing packages from concept through final deliverables.
• Develop plan views, profiles, sections, details, flow diagrams, one-line diagrams, exhibits, and supporting graphics from engineering design information.
• Interpret sketches, calculations, survey information, design criteria, and redlines and translate them into complete, constructible drawing sets.
• Perform detailed CAD quality-control reviews for layering, annotation, dimensions, references, sheet organization, standards, and cross-discipline consistency.
• Coordinate drawing production with engineers, project managers, survey staff, and other disciplines; identify conflicts and resolve drafting issues proactively.
• Establish and maintain project CAD setup, sheet sets, templates, external references, blocks, and file-management practices.
• Prepare final plots and electronic deliverables and verify that drawing packages are complete, legible, and ready for internal or client review.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Associate degree in Drafting Technology, CAD Technology, Engineering Technology, or a related discipline; equivalent progressive experience may be considered.
• Five or more years of progressively responsible drafting/design experience in an engineering, architectural, or infrastructure environment preferred.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD and strong working knowledge of Civil 3D production workflows.
• Demonstrated ability to independently produce and coordinate multi-sheet engineering drawing packages.
• Strong understanding of drafting standards, plan-set organization, drawing scales, annotation, references, revision control, and document quality.
• Proficiency with Windows-based systems and Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills and the ability to coordinate technical information across multiple project contributors.

  supervision.
• Valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED SKILLS

• Advanced Civil 3D capabilities such as surfaces, alignments, profiles, corridors, pipe networks, grading, data
  shortcuts, and reference management.
• Experience developing or enforcing CAD standards, templates, layer conventions, sheet sets, and drawing
  QA/QC procedures.
• Ability to identify constructability or coordination concerns in drawings and elevate them to the appropriate
  engineer or project manager.
• Experience coordinating civil, structural, mechanical, electrical, process, survey, or architectural backgrounds
  within a consolidated drawing package.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for CAD files, external references, plotting, and drawing performance issues.

ADDITIONAL NOTES

• This role serves as a senior technical resource for drafting production and is expected to promote consistent,
  efficient CAD practices.
• The position may support several project managers or disciplines concurrently and may assist with workload
  planning and drawing-delivery schedules.
• Periodic project-site or client coordination may occur when needed to support drawing development or verify
  existing conditions.
• The role does not replace professional engineering responsibility; design decisions requiring engineering
  judgment remain under the direction of qualified engineering staff.
