Sedgman GmbH in Phoenix, AZ seeks a Senior Structural Engineer to provide technical support on structural projects, manage budgets and schedules, and prepare technical reports. You will lead concrete and steel design efforts, coordinate with drafters, and ensure QA compliance on deliverables.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in Structural Engineering with 5–7 years of experience, including leadership, and eligibility for Arizona P.E. licensure.

Sedgman is hiring ! We are currently seeking an Structural Engineer for our Phoenix, AZ office. This individual will be responsible for providing technical support on structural engineering projects; this includes conducting structural design, investigation, managing project budgets and schedules, as well as preparing technical reports.

What does this role involve? Main Responsibilities:

• Provide engineering support for the structural and concrete designs ensuring compliance with relevant codes, industry standards.

• Perform concept studies, including estimating quantities and preliminary designs

• Perform detailed concrete and steel design, including interaction with Drafters to produce models and documentation in line with QA Compliance

• Assist with construction enquiries, including safe lifting and erection

• Interface with other Engineering disciplines, including Electrical, Process and Mechanical

• Focus on technical innovation and continuous improvement

• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers

What are we looking for in our future team member? Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering

• Will have 5-7 years of structural engineering experience, with at least 5 in years in a lead or senior role

• Must be eligible to register with the Arizona State Board of Technical Registration to obtain the Professional Engineer licensing (P.E.); knowledge & experience with Arizona building code is desirable

• Strong understanding of steel and concrete design for heavy industrial structures.

• Demonstrated sound knowledge and experience in design/consultancy/operational environments

• Previous mining or metals industry experience is highly desired

• Ability to safely and effectively self-manage time, priorities and activities

• Well-developed communication and negotiation skills

• Must be eligible to work in the USA without sponsorship
