Job summary

ManpowerGroup in Long Beach, CA is seeking a seasoned Structural Engineer to join our client’s engineering team. You will contribute to industrial projects with a focus on safety, reliability, and efficient collaboration across disciplines.

Responsibilities include developing structural concepts and detailed designs, performing calculations per ASCE 7/IBC/IEEE, creating and reviewing drawings in AutoCAD, and conducting site visits to verify conditions. California PE license preferred.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
  • PE license required; California PE license preferred.
  • Proficiency with structural design software such as RISA-3D, RAM Connection, and AutoCAD.

  • Develop conceptual and detailed structural designs for industrial projects.
  • Prepare structural calculations in compliance with ASCE 7, IBC, and IEEE standards.
  • Create and review drawings, sketches, and technical documentation using AutoCAD.

What's the Job?
  • Develop conceptual and detailed structural designs for industrial projects including Oil & Gas facilities, manufacturing plants, and power infrastructure.
  • Prepare structural calculations and analyses in compliance with applicable codes such as ASCE 7, IBC, and IEEE standards.
  • Create and review drawings, sketches, and technical documentation using AutoCAD and other engineering software.
  • Conduct site visits, field assessments, and review existing conditions to inform design solutions.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project goals are met efficiently and effectively.
What's Needed?
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Minimum of 8 years of relevant structural engineering experience.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license required; California PE license preferred.
  • Proficiency with structural design software such as RISA-3D, RAM Connection, and AutoCAD.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently and within teams.
