Job summary

WSP USA in Dallas, TX is offering a full-time Structural Engineering Intern position for Summer 2027 as part of the Summer Internship Program. The role provides hands-on exposure to real projects and mentorship from senior staff in the Property & Buildings Team.

You will participate in a 12-week program starting May 17, 2027, with tasks in research, field work, preliminary design calculations, and documentation, aiming to build technical, professional, and ethical skills, while upholding WSP’s

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Structural Engineering undergraduate program with anticipated graduation in August 2027 or later.
• Must be 18 years or older.
• Demonstrated interest in structural engineering and a desire to develop skills related to WSP's projects.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to take direction from mentors and managers to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and design tools.
• Authorized to work in the United States at internship start.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical and professional skills.
• Learn basic principles of structural engineering.
• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations.
• Support preparation of final design plans, provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation.
• Complete training on assigned tasks.
• Adhere to WSP Code of Conduct and safety policies.
• Perform additional responsibilities as needed.
• Note: there is no relocation or housing assistance for this internship.
