Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a part-time Structural Engineering Intern for Fall 2026 to join the San Diego, CA office. The internship targets undergraduates or graduates enrolled in Civil or Structural Engineering programs and spans the Fall 2026 semester, with no relocation or housing assistance provided.

Interns will develop technical, social, and ethical skills, gain exposure to real projects, and work alongside senior staff in a mentorship–driven program through WSP’s Developing Professionals Network.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil or Structural Engineering program with anticipated graduation 2026 or later.
• Must be 18 or older and authorized to work in the U.S.
• Interest in Structural Engineering and eagerness to develop skills on real projects.
• Ability to communicate effectively with engineers and non-engineers, and take direction from mentors.

Responsibilities

• Assist with project research, field work, and preliminary design calculations and analysis.
• Support preparation of final design plans, special provisions, and cost estimates.
• Assist in collecting and maintaining project documentation and training on assigned tasks.
• Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds and conduct.
