Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a full-time, in-person Structural Engineering Intern to join the Philadelphia Structures Team at 1700 Market Street. This temporary internship targets undergrad/grad students and runs for 12 weeks starting May 17, 2027, with flexible start dates.

You will assist on design tasks for bridges, culverts, and retaining walls, support final design plan preparation, and develop design calculations and cost estimates under senior staff mentorship. No relocation housing is provided.

Qualifications

• Actively enrolled in an accredited Civil Engineering or Architectural Engineering undergraduate or graduate program with a May 2028 or later expected graduation.
• Must be 18 years or older and authorized to work in the United States at internship start.
• Demonstrated interest in Structural Engineering and desire to advance skills on WSP projects.
• Strong interpersonal and professional communication abilities for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Capable of following direction from mentors and leaders to execute projects.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Support a variety of engineering tasks to develop technical skills.

Our Philadelphia Structures Teamis seeking a Full-Time In-Person Structural Engineering Internto work out of our 1700 Market Street Philadelphiaoffice. This temporary position is seeking individuals currently enrolled in an Undergraduate or Graduate degree program.

This internship will be part of the WSP Summer Internship Program. As a summer intern, you have the opportunity to participate in our 12-week program scheduled to start on May 17th, 2027. The individual start date of the internship may be flexible.

Your Impact

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Competent interpersonal and communication skills when interacting with others, expressing ideas effectively and professionally to an engineering and non-engineering audience.


• Capable of taking direction from leadership, mentors, and managers to executive projects.


• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office automation, software, spreadsheets, technology, and tools.


• Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.


• Authorization to work in the United States at the start of the internship.
