Job description

S. T. Hudson Engineers, Inc. is looking for a motivated draftsperson, at an entry level, with the ability to work independently and with a team while supporting engineers, construction managers, and surveyors. Perform drafting assignments as well as project specific work. Provide technical assistance and production support. Ideal candidate has 1-5 years of experience in the use of AutoCAD software, with the anticipation of growing/expanding their toolset. Physical office located in Cherry Hill, New Jersey.

Duties and Responsibilities

• The draftsperson will work with project engineers, environmental engineers and senior design draftsman to assist in preparing, and maintaining civil / structural drawings. Develop 2D and 3D AutoCAD design drawings, layouts, and specifications for marine waterfront structures.
• Updates and corrections to civil, structural, and permit drawings.
• The preparation of hydrographic survey drawings.
• The preparation of Drone survey drawings.
• Perform field verification and/or collection of data such as measurements.
• Participate in design reviews with project engineers and field personnel to ensure drawing intent and accuracy.
• Work with manager and design staff to generate plans, sections and details based on design criteria.
• The ability to follow a project from concept through permitting, design / construction and as built deliverables.
• Interface between different types of software tools and AutoCAD to produce accurate drawings and presentations.
• Manage drawing sets and execute proper document/file management.

Qualification Requirements
