Job summary

Huxley, based in the United States, is seeking a drafting engineer to join the Engineering Department in Astoria. The role requires producing 2D drawings from contract drawings using AutoCAD and performing site visits for new and as-built work.

You will collaborate with electrical contractors and engineering firms, read specifications, and revise drawings based on client markups. A Bachelor's in Engineering and proficiency in AutoCAD are essential, with Autodesk Vault experience preferred.

Qualifications

We are seeking a motivated, energetic, and hard-working drafting engineer to add to our Engineering Department. We are seeking someone that is willing to grow with the company and excel (with training) in this industry.

JOB DESCRIPTION

This position will be required to support our office in Astoria, NY. This is not a remote job. This Engineer will be required to produce 2D drawings from provided contract drawings using the latest version of AutoCad. The position would require job site visits for new & as-built drawings. This Engineer will be exposed to high level jobs in New York City working alongside many different Electrical Contractors and Engineering firms.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Create2D drawings for new jobs as required by the Sales Engineer
  • Drawings include; circuit breaker panel schedules, one-line diagrams, room layouts, elevation drawings of switchboards and other drawings as required.
• Revise drawings based on markups from the customer or the Engineer on the job.
• Visit job sites to mark up and revise existing drawings per as-built conditions.
• Read Specifications and contract drawings for new jobs to provide what the customer needs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, etc.) or related degree.
• Experience with AutoCad.
• Ability to read contract drawings is preferred but not required.
• Experience with Autodesk Vault is preferred but not required.
• Ability to work/coordinate with others in the department and alongside the sales department who run the jobs.
• Ability to work on multi-task and bounce from one job to another if required.
• Willingness to learn and ask questions.
• Organized with a strong attention to detail.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel.
