Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a senior CAD Operator/Drafter to support the Structural Division in South Plainfield, NJ. The role focuses on creating AutoCAD/Revit construction drawings, including plans, foundations, elevations, sections, connections, and structural details.

Approximately 80% of time is drafting with about 20% coordinating with structural engineers and other disciplines. Candidates should have 6+ years of structural CAD experience within engineering environments and be prepared for

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional CAD drafting experience.
• Experience with AutoCAD and/or Revit.
• Experience in a Structural Engineering domain coordinating with structural engineers on projects.

Responsibilities

• Produce AutoCAD/Revit construction drawings (plans, foundations, elevations, sections, connections, and structural details).
• QA/QC and CAD standards maintenance; mentoring junior staff may be involved.

Insight Global is seeking a senior CAD Operator/Drafter supporting the Structural Division in South Plainfield, NJ, focused primarily on structural drafting rather than engineering design. The person will spend roughly 80% of their time producing AutoCAD/Revit construction drawings, including plans, foundations, elevations, sections, connections, and structural details, with about 20% coordinating with structural engineers and other disciplines. Strong candidates should bring 6+ years of structural CAD experience within an engineering environment, ideally supporting commercial, institutional, transportation, or public-sector projects governed by agencies such as DOT, Port Authority, DDC, NYC Parks, or SCA. MEP and primarily architectural/residential drafting backgrounds are less aligned. The role also includes QA/QC, CAD standards, and potentially mentoring junior staff, with longer-term growth toward CAD

Required Skills & Experience

• Associate degree or technical certification in Drafting, Design Technology, or other related experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of professional CAD drafting experience.
