Job summary

Pelican Energy is seeking a Structural Drafter in Covington, LA to support engineers with AutoCAD drafting on flow schematics, equipment layouts and piping isometrics. You will draft, revise and print drawings under supervision, and ensure adherence to company drafting standards.

Responsibilities include generating both scaled and non-scaled drawings, collaborating with engineers, designers, vendors, and management, and occasionally traveling to collect field data to support project needs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with drafting/design associate degree or equivalent.
• 1–5 years experience preferred.
• Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Draft and revise AutoCAD drawings per engineers' specifications.
• Prepare scaled and non-scaled drawings, including flow schematics and piping isometrics.
• Print, plot, and file drawings.
• Communicate with engineers, designers, vendors, and management.
• Travel occasionally for field data collection.

POSITION SUMMARY

Capable of performing work as assigned and mentored by a Designer, Lead Project Designer or Drafting Manager. CAD Drafters draft hand sketches from engineers utilizing AutoCAD computer software. (e.g. various types of “scaled” and “non-scaled” drawings including but not limited to Flow Schematics, Equipment Layouts and Piping Isometrics etc.)

• Perform drafting duties utilizing basic drafting skills and techniques in compliance with company drafting standards.
• Learn and apply the company drafting and engineering practices.
• Basic Computer Aided Drafting on assigned projects utilizing AutoCAD.
