Job summary

La-Z-Boy is seeking an Engineering CAD Associate to assist in developing frame and structural requirements for new products within the global residential division.

You will create detailed CAD drawings for multi-material components, support prototype testing, and help document manufacturing specs across plants and supply centers. Strong SolidWorks skills and team collaboration are essential to drive design quality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of work experience.
• SolidWorks experience.
• Ability to interpreting part print.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment and with cross-functional teams.
• Up to 10% travel required.
• ASQ Certification is preferred.
• Associate’s degree in engineering is preferred.
• Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Identify and develop frame and structural requirements based on merchandising guidelines.
• Create detailed drawings and CAD models for wood, foam, panelboard, metal, and plastic components.
• Research and implement changes to existing products; document in databases.
• Create physical prototypes for review against design criteria.
• Develop and execute test plans for materials; evaluate data for improvements.
• Create manufacturing documentation and lead implementation across plants.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feasible, cost-effective designs.
• Maintain design standards and documentation.
• Partner with Test Lab to design tests and studies for validation.
