Job summary

La-Z-Boy Incorporated in Dayton, TN seeks a Structural Designer II to assist a multidisciplinary team in the creation and development of frame and structural requirements for new products and prototypes. The role emphasizes CAD modeling, documentation, and manufacturing integration to ensure structural integrity and cost targets.

The candidate will work with cross-functional teams, assist with prototype development, test plans, and manufacturing BOMs, with up to 10% travel as required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED with 0-2 years of work experience or equivalent.
• SolidWorks experience and ability to interpret part prints.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Ability to work effectively in a team and with cross-functional teams.
• Up to 10% travel required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in identifying and developing frame and structural requirements based on guidelines.
• Create drawings and CAD models for wood, foam, panelboard, metal and plastic components.
• Assist with material evaluation, prototyping, tests, and documentation.
• Develop manufacturing documentation including wood lists, prints, and BOMs.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure feasible, cost-effective designs.
